The usage of the referenced flag has been debated several times in the Discord server, so I believe that adding two more flags could resolve concerns that people have. It is generally intended to be used for crediting the original staff of a work that's been referenced on a separate album/product, but has also been used for:
- Tracks being reused from a previous product or licensed from another source without alteration (if the referenced flag is not used, it could give the illusion that the artist directly worked on the album/product)
- Miscredits (e.g the wrong composer is credited, or a composer is credited but none of their tracks are on the album/product. another alternative is to omit the person from the roles entirely, but cataloging miscredits is still a decent idea)
There has also been uncertainty over whether the referenced flag should be used on official arrange albums. Perhaps the reused flag could also apply to cases like these. Both the reused and miscredited flags could hide the products from an artist's discography by default, but if enabled then perhaps they could show them in the main and referenced sections respectively.
