This guide walks you through the typical setup after installing Intercessor.
- Go to Pages → Add New.
- Add the Prayer Form block (search for "Prayer Form" in the block inserter).
- Publish the page. Visitors can now submit prayer requests from this page.
- Create another new page.
- Add the Prayer Wall block.
- Publish. This page displays approved prayer requests with an "I prayed for this" button and a live prayer counter.
If you want logged-in users to view and manage their own submitted requests:
- Create a new page.
- Add the Prayer History block.
- Publish. Logged-in users can see their requests, edit pending ones, and delete their own submissions.
Go to Intercessor → Settings in the admin sidebar. The settings are organized into tabs:
- General — Approval rules (auto-approve vs moderation), login requirements, anonymous submissions, rate limiting, terms and privacy links, profanity filter, and moderator role selection.
- Notifications — Email notifications for new requests (admin), receipt confirmations (requester), status changes, and scheduled prayer-count digest emails.
- Display — Default requests per page, whether to show submission dates and requester names, and date format.
- reCAPTCHA — Optional Google reCAPTCHA v2 or v3 integration to protect the submission form from spam.
- Export — Configure what data is included in CSV exports (prayer content, status filtering, prayed counts format).
- Data — Toggle whether to delete all plugin data on uninstall.
Navigate to Intercessor → Prayer Requests in the admin sidebar. From here you can:
- Review pending requests and approve, reject, or mark them as spam.
- Use bulk actions to moderate multiple requests at once.
- Click into a request to add moderator notes.
- View requester profiles and history under Intercessor → Requesters.
Go to Intercessor → Reports for an overview of prayer request activity, including stats by status, by date, and a filterable activity log.
Under Intercessor → Tools, you can export prayer requests, requesters, prayed counts, and settings as CSV files.
