Open image in full screen

Currently, images are rendered inline, but it can be hard to see details (this example comes from the Mactrix chat)

It would be nice if you could click on an image to see it full screen, or open in Preview.app perhaps?

File attachments in chats already open in the preview window when clicked. This would be simple to implement for images as well, and it comes with the benefits that the preview window already contains options for sharing, annotating etc.

I wonder if we can leverage the Quick Look functionality for this behavior, if we can get a URL for the image (not sure whether it needs to be local). This would provide the same options as Quick Look in the Finder, including full screen support and opening an image in other associated tools like Preview.
