Mac App Store says I need "Mac OS 26.0 or later." Huh?

I cannot install the program from the App Store. The error message is as above. See attached screenshot.

You need to upgrade your Mac to macOS version 26, Tahoe.

But isn't there an older version for Sequoia if you can't upgrade to Tahoe - version 3? There is for iOS for iOS 18. I realize version 4 isn't backwards compatible with the older database but I am fine with having the old version 3 for iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. None of my iOS devices support macOS 26 either.

Couldn't you add a link for a binary download of version 3 for macOS. I realize it might not get support but I am ok with that. Have so many OmniOutliner files I want to convert to OPML so I can use them between my mac and iOS devices that don't run the newest OS versions.

I was very disappointed to discover that I can no longer sync Zavala on my iPhone. I'm running iOS 18.7.9. Apparently, my phone stopped automatically updating Zavala after version 3.3.10, so I didn't even know there were newer versions until I started getting sync errors due to a database format change, and being told that I need to update. But I can't update my old iPhone to iOS 26—which was only released 10 months ago! I, too, would have stuck with the older version 3.x on my Mac had I known I would run into this issue. Now I'm stuck with two datasets that are out of sync and no apparent way to get them back in sync.

Funny thing is, I started using Zavala because I was afraid that "The Hit List" would stop working at some point (it was last updated in 2018). But, ironically, it is still working just fine and continues to sync via their own servers (not iCloud) and it's Zavala that's stopped working for me…
