The widget of Notchy doesn't work #37

Both halves of this are fixed in v1.0.172, out now — and your environment is exactly the one that was broken. macOS 13.7.8 (Ventura). The widget bundle was marked Intel. The widget extension's architecture slices are now verified at build time — the release fails if the appex is missing either the arm64 or the x86_64 slice, instead of shipping a bundle that quietly can't run on your Mac. Note that on Ventura widgets live in Notification Centre rather than on the desktop, so that's where to look after updating. Update via Notchy > Settings > About > Check for Updates, or |

Just checking in. Did the widgets show up for you on Ventura after updating to v1.0.172 or later? Remember they appear in Notification Center on macOS 13. If they're working, could you close this discussion? If not, tell me which widget it is and whether it's missing from the gallery or shows up blank. |

No need to apologise, and thanks for clearing that up. The screenshots made it clear: you mean the buttons inside the Notchy panel, not the widgets. I've found the cause. Plain buttons and drags in the panel could miss a click on macOS 13, because the panel doesn't have keyboard focus at that moment, and your clicks fell through, just as you described. Those controls now take the click even when the panel isn't focused. That covers the Timer's Standard/Pomodoro switch, dragging the Custom time ruler, and the Focus mode buttons. The fix will be in the next release. I'll post here when it's out. After updating, could you check that you can:
If any of those still does nothing on your Intel Mac, let me know which one. |

The panel interaction corrections are available in Notchy 1.0.188: https://github.com/vishvavariya/notchy-feedback/releases/tag/v1.0.188 The open panel now keeps its child button and drag gestures enabled, and inactive-panel clicks are covered by the regression checks. This targets the Standard/Pomodoro switch, Custom time ruler, and Focus buttons you identified. I tested the panel while Notchy was not the active app, but I cannot test your Intel Mac running Ventura directly. After updating, please try those three controls again. If one still fails, tell me which one and I will continue investigating. |

Thank you for confirming the Timer and Focus buttons work on your Intel Mac running Ventura—that hardware confirmation is very helpful. Notchy 1.0.191 is now out as a universal arm64/Intel build and retains those interaction fixes. If the Standard/Pomodoro switch or custom time control still behaves differently from the buttons you confirmed, please name the remaining control; otherwise no extra test is needed just for this thread. |

Thanks for the update! I tested v1.0.191 on my Intel Mac running macOS
Ventura, and all controls (including the Timer, Focus buttons, and
time controls) are working smoothly now. Appreciate the quick fix!

Thanks for retesting 1.0.191 on Intel/Ventura and confirming the Timer, Focus and time controls all work smoothly! That resolves the controls report on your setup. |
