Um, I'm seeing some other issues with Markdown rendering on Linux, but oddly, the super/sub stuff is working. I wonder if it is a font fallback issue.

Seems the problem comes from vglyph

You read my mind. I was going to ask you to do that.

Made some changes to vglyph. None were directly related to sub/super, but there was a subpixel and atlas issue. Who knows, maybe we got lucky.

I did updates for gui, included vglyph. Also I installed fonts-noto fonts-noto-color-emoji I had not, but the problem is the same.

bummer. I'll install Ubuntu to repro it at some point. It's not showing up here on Linux Mint.
