Feature request: hotkey to quickly switch between Spanish and English

Hi, and thanks for Dictly — I’m really enjoying it on my Mac mini.

I often dictate in both Spanish and English. Right now I need to open Settings → Speech → Spoken language and change it manually each time.

It would be very helpful to have a quick way to switch languages while dictating, for example:

A separate hotkey that temporarily uses a second “pinned” language (e.g., main hotkey = English, secondary hotkey = Spanish), or

A keyboard shortcut/menu item to toggle between two favorite languages.

This would make code‑switching between Spanish and English much smoother.

Hi! Thank you very much for your feedback. I really appreciate that you’ve used the app. Of course, I will do this in the next update (if you really need it). Have you tried setting it to auto-detect in "spoken language" instead of a specific language in the settings? It doesn’t work correctly? — the original idea was that if you set it to auto-detect, you could speak any language to the multilingual model.

Yes, I have tried the “auto-detect” option for spoken language. It works sometimes, but in my case it’s not reliable enough: when I speak Spanish it often switches to English, Italian or even Russian, so the transcript becomes incorrect. I frequently switch between Spanish and English in the same day, and sometimes even in the same session.

Because of that, I think having dedicated shortcuts would help a lot. For example:

One hotkey that always uses English

Another hotkey that always uses Spanish

(or a quick toggle between two “favorite” languages).

This would let me control the language explicitly when auto-detect guesses wrong, while still using the multilingual model.
