How to solve LTS kernel and normal kernel exclusion issues?

No report exists, it's void specific.

Expected behaviour

If user picks LTS kernel like linux6.1 the machine should have only LTS kernel until that one is deprecated, EOLed.

Actual behaviour

If user picks LTS kernel like linux6.1, xbps still always pulls in several other later kernels, currently: linux6.12.

Probably through:

[-] linux-6.12_1                       Linux kernel meta package

Steps to reproduce

1. Install void
2. Install LTS kernel like linux6.1
3. Uninstall linux6.12-*
4. Some time later, update the machine
5. linux6.12 eventually comes back

@tranzystorekk I haven't had time, but recnetly I revisited this and did this:

: cat /etc/xbps.d/00-ignore-kernel-churn.conf    
#
# 
# longterm: 	6.1.x

ignorepkg=linux
ignorepkg=linux-headers

ignorepkg=linux-lts
ignorepkg=linux-lts-headers

And did:

:xbps-pkgdb -m manual linux-base

So, if I understood it properly, now, each time kernels present on my machine get updated, I should see their packages for download, but I should not see new kernels to be auto installed, ie only present kernels will be getting updates, right?

Right nothing will install any linuxX.Y package, the linux and linux-lts meta package usually pull those in, when you remove both you have to install linux-mainline or manually install new series.
