Expected behaviour

The daemon should use its own system _dhcpcd user, not root. It is a common sense, that services run as system users. Would be nice to have more system users, lets say, for iwd.

Actual behaviour

It runs as root according to multiple sources.

Steps to reproduce

1. ln -s /etc/sv/dhcpcd /var/service
2. Use any convenient way to check the process owner.
3. It runs as root

I agree, and I proposed this a while ago for dhcpcd #53404 and wpa_supplicant #55802 . In general, you need to use capabilities for this to work.

The problem is that _dhcpcd user exist, but is not used, unlike dbus. I did not explain this clearly.
