Considering a "Run current file" action in the menu, with a keyboard shortcut, that runs a configurable command in the built-in terminal.
The idea is to provide defaults for common file types, with per-project configuration to override them. Commands could use ${file} for the current file's full path, ${fileBasename} for its filename, and ${workspaceFolder} for the project folder.
For example, a Python file could use python "${file}", while a project using uv could override it with uv run python "${file}".
How often would you use this? Please also leave a comment: What command would you run, and for which file type?
