Is there any way to enable Algolia’s Query Suggestions?

Unfortunately, no - Algolia's Query Suggestions feature is not supported within VitePress's built in Algolia integration.

VitePress's Algolia search is built on top of DocSearch (@docsearch/js), which is a purpose built, opinionated search UI specifically for documentation. DocSearch handles its own search UX (including its own form of recent searches and suggestions based on your doc structure), but it does not expose hooks to plug in Algolia's general purpose Query Suggestions widget, which is part of the broader InstantSearch/Autocomplete ecosystem.

The options you pass in themeConfig.search are passed through to DocSearch - not to a raw Algolia InstantSearch or Autocomplete instance... . so there's no way to inject Query Suggestions there.

Your options if you need Query Suggestions:

• Replace the search component entirely using VitePress's custom theme capability. You could build your own search box using Algolia's @algolia/autocomplete-js with the Query Suggestions plugin, and skip the built in DocSearch integration.
• Request/contribute the feature - if this is something you'd like to see natively, opening a feature request would be the right path.
