Description
Some of the requirements of SC 1.4.11 for maps can be met through alternatives like text descriptions, directions, etc. and if specific colors are needed like in heat maps they are exempted. But what about other common map elements needed outside of direction or a location such as a road. Would the road depicted on a map need to meet the contrast requirements if the purpose of the map was to identify and explore roads in an area? Because most maps like Google Maps have roads that touch different types of areas a single color would likely not work. Obviously different custom colorations, patterns, could be used including use of different layers and contrast modes - but most maps included on sites do not include this functionality.
