As of January 2026, the Text and Wording section has three subsections. Each subsection has a separate google doc:
- Meeting minutes document
- Minutes will be emailed with the subject: [Subgroup name] Meeting Date, Week #
- Minutes will also be sent to W3C repository
Note: The WCAG 3.0 blocker survey is open until January 18. We’d like to refresh goals after we have a chance to assess the results
- (Top priority) Definitions: Ensure terms in our section have at least an exploratory definition. FYI: We can’t publish requirements or assertions in the January working draft unless they have at least an exploratory definition.
- Text Appearance groundwork: Develop plan to fill in gaps for English and the 4 other guardrail languages.
- Github issues: Review all issues that are labeled for our 3 subsections; aim to resolve at least [X number] issues by the end of this sprint.
- Examples: Draft at least one set of Pass/Fail examples for each Clear Language requirement.
- Text and Wording Google Drive Folder
- GitHub Issues for Text and Wording:
- Subgroup handbook (2026)
WCAG3 is a project of the W3C Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (AGWG). Research and prototyping was done by the Silver Task Force. Archival and additional material for this project can be found on the Silver wiki and the Silver Github wiki.
This Wiki page is edited by participants of the Accessibility Guidelines Working Group. It does not necessarily represent consensus and it may have incorrect information or information that is not supported by other Working Group participants, WAI, or W3C. It may also have some very useful information.
