Scope of this Subgroup

As of January 2026, the Text and Wording section has three subsections. Each subsection has a separate google doc:

Minutes

  • Meeting minutes document
  • Minutes will be emailed with the subject: [Subgroup name] Meeting Date, Week #
  • Minutes will also be sent to W3C repository

Current Goals

Note: The WCAG 3.0 blocker survey is open until January 18. We’d like to refresh goals after we have a chance to assess the results

  • (Top priority) Definitions: Ensure terms in our section have at least an exploratory definition. FYI: We can’t publish requirements or assertions in the January working draft unless they have at least an exploratory definition.
  • Text Appearance groundwork: Develop plan to fill in gaps for English and the 4 other guardrail languages.
  • Github issues: Review all issues that are labeled for our 3 subsections; aim to resolve at least [X number] issues by the end of this sprint.
  • Examples: Draft at least one set of Pass/Fail examples for each Clear Language requirement.
