Inspirations

Magma is a language born from the ideas expressed by Go and Zig, as well as a spiritual successor and next logical step of XSTD which is a standard library alternative for C making use of those ideas.

Some of said ideas are:

1. Explicit and forced error handling.
2. Low-level capabilities while having a modern, high-level standard library.
3. No hidden allocations.
4. "Objects" as data, not modules.
5. Sane, modern defaults.

Paradigms

Magma is not definable only by what it tries to be, but also by what it tries not to become. The language asks the question: what could C be if the introduction of higher-level concepts did not create the patchwork monster that is C++ today.

What Magma aspires to be:

1. A low to high level language, excelling at both.
2. A generalist tool, allowing for any program to be written in it, for any cases.

What it tries not to be:

1. A melting pot of bad decisions having to coexist because of existing codebases.
