Describe the bug

I’ve just updated to Warp 2.0, and I’m wondering if the new tab bar design is intended or possibly a bug. Compared to the previous version, it feels less minimal and harder to distinguish the active tab. The “Show tab indicators” setting also appears to have no effect.

Can we have a vote between the new and the previous tab bar styles?

Also, both the website and the release note dialog after the update are still using the previous tab bar style.
That makes me wonder if this is really a bug or not.
If it’s intentional, please don’t forget to update the related assets when making UI changes, to keep things consistent.

Also chiming in here. At the very least, could we get the option to use the previous tab style? The new one looks just god awful. The old tab style was one thing I real;y liked about Warp, small as it was.

Glad I searched existing issues again before hitting the submit button.

The style of the active tab is too subtle. It's so difficult to tell which tab is active now. I think so far I've clicked on the wrong tab more than clicking on the right one.

It would be best if it can be controlled by some theme settings, but it may require a lot of works though.

I use different terminals, sometimes powershell, sometimes ubuntu, sometimes git bash, with the new tab indicators after running a few commands, it replaces the icon of what type of terminal it is so i can't tell if it's a powershell or an ubuntu tab anymore.

Really frustrating, i don't care to see a green checkmark when my agent finished something, i get a toast when it's done, just show me the icon of the terminal process always.

Glad there is an issue already, please revert or refine, it's horrible to recognize the active tab now.

I consider this a poor design decision, especially when I noticed that the gaps between the tabs are not consistent with the gap between the tabs and the top of the window.

I’ve just received a new update (version v0.2025.07.02.08.36.stable_02). In the changelog, it says the color contrast of the tab has been improved — is this related to the issue we’ve been discussing?

Even if the contrast has been altered, the new tab appearance is still horrid. I'm honestly baffled anyone on the UI design side gave this a thumbs up.

Was going to create an issue but am glad others are struggling with the tab bar as well. I'm having a really hard time distinguishing which one is active.

Could you please add extra options to the setting to make the active tab more obvious (perhaps a border or different color that really stands out)
