UX: Command-e can't be used for splitting panes

Describe the bug

On a Mac, Command-e means "Copy the current selection to the the clipboard."  
You can't use it for "split vertically into two panes."

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce:

1. Go to '...'
2. Click on '...'
3. Scroll down to '...'
4. See error '...'

I can't find this keyboard shortcut.
I checked keyboard shortcuts (in system preferences) and also Apple's docs:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201236

In what states / contexts does the CMD-E shortcut trigger?
I haven't been able to use it to copy to the clipboard.

This works on every application that Apple produces that shows text (Safari, Terminal, TextEdit, etc.). If you are on a web page that has several instances of the word “pancake”, select one instance, press Command-e, then press Command-g. The selection will hop to the next instance of “pancake”. Furthermore, if you go to another app, and press Command-g, the new application will do a search for “pancake”. Command-e puts the current selection onto the find pasteboard. (Note that Warp doesn’t read or write to the find pasteboard correctly. That is another bug.)

I'm still working on a keybindings audit so we can come up with a keymap that minimizes these kinds of scenarios. Your opened issues have been really helpful.
