Love this feature idea! Want to add some stability to the code-base first, personally ... but super happy to support anybody that picks it up to work on it. 💪 |

@jjmata I am interested in this feature. Can I pick this up? |

+1 on this .. running into the same need. One thing worth adding: in my case it's often bi-directional. Sometimes a friend owes me, sometimes I owe them, and the running balance flips back and forth until it hopefully nets to zero. Less "personal loan", more "ongoing IOU ledger with this person." I tried the obvious options and each had a snag:
What I'm doing today: just creating Cash accounts with a
Side note: "Cash" in the UI seems to actually mean "bank/depository account". If anything new is added here, there might be room to clarify that distinction. If this lands as a completely new account type and not another sub-type, a way to migrate existing transactions over would be really helpful. |

I’d like to request a “Personal Loan Management” feature that allows users to record and manage informal, interest-free loans between individuals — for example, when we borrow money from friends, family, or colleagues.
This feature should enable:

Currently, finance apps mainly handle institutional loans (credit cards, banks), leaving no place to transparently record personal debts.
This feature solves real-world issues:

It would be great if this could also integrate with existing Debt or Expense modules, so personal loans appear alongside formal liabilities but marked as “Personal (No Interest)” for clarity.
A future enhancement could allow both parties (borrower/lender) to see synchronized updates if they both use the app — similar to shared budgets or joint accounts.
