Motivation
Seeing that Expo 48 is available, this pull request was created to bring all of our dependencies and the dependencies for the example project up to their latest stable version, to make the transition from expo 47 to expo 48 easier. I am in the process of converting my own application to Expo 48 and their are some typescript errors being thrown in this library which I plan on resolving. However, in order to approach this problem it makes a lot of sense to tackle this incrementally to have less moving parts.
