Opened draft PR #311. The fix keeps the macOS update toast hidden until the renderer has a real updater payload, and it no longer renders the internal "waiting for updater state" placeholder as user-facing content.

Quick follow-up while this is still fresh: does the current main or latest build still show the placeholder update card, or does it now stay hidden?

Draft PR #311 is scoped very narrowly to this exact behavior: keep the toast hidden until the renderer has a real updater payload instead of showing the internal waiting-state text. A quick retest on a recent build would tell us whether that PR is still needed.
