Verifying points

I got an ImageData passed to the algorithm, then I draw the points on a canvas like in the example, but they aren't even close to being correct.

How can I verify the points? Is there a simple hello world I can use to test?

On a blank image, it finds zero points which is good, but it doesn't help.
