Herduck: work-context layer alongside Herdr (Alpha — feedback welcome)

Context

Herduck is an open-source Alpha derived from the Herdr line of Agent terminal runtimes. It installs its own binary and aims to complement—not replace—Herdr’s runtime strengths.

Herdr = runtime (where Agents run)
Herduck = work context layer (goal / status / blocker / next + evidence across sessions, projects, and Agents)

Problem

Runtime solves “where are the Agents?”
Keeping one piece of work continuous across Agents, sessions, and directories is a different problem.

What Herduck tries

• Four views: Work / Agents / Projects / Sessions
• Auto-cluster sessions into Work (configurable; local/keyword options exist)
• Agent auto-naming; inactive sleep to free RAM
• herduck CLI / JSON for Agents to read and update work plans
• Works with Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi, Gemini CLI, Cursor; Herdr-compatible shortcuts

1. If you already use Herdr daily, which Work features feel necessary vs. noise?
2. Sleep / resume: what thresholds match your real usage?
3. Privacy: which generation features should stay off-by-default?
