#Usage Instructions This page will guide you through tabbing a tournament using DeClash. If you're interested in setting up DeClash, see 'Setup Instructions'. If you want to know more about the functionality of each room, see the various Room Informations. For other information, please refer to the FAQ.
##Step 1: Register an account
##Step 2: Register your tournament
- Go to Management, where you'll be prompted to register your tournament.
- The max debaters option is useless at this point, just enter any number.
##Step 3: Register Teams, Judges, and Rooms
- You can use copy and paste from Excel/Google Docs or any spreadsheet program
- You can enable the public to register by enabling both the public to see your tournament and the public to register for your tournament.
- Manage the registration just like a regular spreadsheet. To delete something, right click a row and delete, or select entire row(s) and hit the delete key on the keyboard.
- Click 'Create a Round'
- Under each Round, you can select which teams/judges/rooms should be active for that round before you assign. So Swing teams or teams that suddenly disappeared can be marked as inactive.
- You cannot assign a round until the warning messages are resolved.
- Click 'Assign Round'
- You need to have a Motion before you can Activate a Round.
- To switch judges around, drag and drop them.
- To change Chair for a room, double click on the intended Chair's name.
- To switch Rooms, teams or swing in teams, click on the Room/Team and select which to swap.
- Once the round is ready, click 'Activate Round and Publish Assignment' (Assignment will only be published if you set your tournament to be viewable by the public under 'Management')
- The box next to the team names reflect the team's score under BP (0,1,2,3) 0 is for 4th place, 1 is for 3rd place and so on.
- The box next to the debater's name is for the debater's score.
- If the room's background is in red, it means the scores don't 'add up'. The highest ranking team must have the highest debater score and so on.
- The box next to a judge's name is for judge ranking. Higher ranking is better. This affects the likelyhood of the judge being a Chair next round. This is optional
- The bracket next to the team and debaters name reflect the actual score, this is relevant only when you have multiple people entering scores at the same time.
- Once all rooms are not red, you can finalize the round. Only do this if you're sure everything is correct. Stop all data entering, refresh the page, and confirm the numbers are correct. Once finalized, the round cannot be changed in any way
- You can only create a Round once the previous Round is finalized.
- On the Tab Results tab on top, select which tab you want, select all by Ctrl + A, and copy by Ctrl + C
- Paste it to Excel/Google Docs
- Doing this will mean you'll lose access to all data in the tournament
- You will be able to create another tournament once you finish the current one.
