Hi all!
I’m working on a version of Mike designed 'for dummies' to make the installation accessible to everyone, regardless of their technical background. I’m finalizing a one-click Docker Compose setup that will get Mike operational in under 60 seconds, automating every dependency from the database to the document processors.
I’m currently testing this on an RTX 5080 using NVIDIA NIM (Llama 3.1). The performance is incredible and, most importantly, it keeps all sensitive legal data 100% local and private.
But there’s more. I believe the best way to achieve a true human-machine collaboration is through structured thought. That’s why I’m adding native Markdown (.md) support.
This will allow users to:
Link Obsidian to Mike: Use Obsidian to create correlations, links, and strategic maps of a case, then upload those notes directly into Mike.
Hybrid Reasoning: Let Mike handle the heavy lifting of PDF analysis while the human lawyer manages the 'knowledge graph' via Markdown.
I want to bridge the gap between simple document chat and professional legal reasoning. I’ll be releasing the first version of this 'cookbook' and the configuration files very soon. Stay tuned!
