First of all, thank you for creating OGX Mini. I built one to use with my PS3 and came across an issue that seems to be specific to GTA V rather than a hardware problem.
What happens
When playing Grand Theft Auto V on PS3, the controller will occasionally appear to hold an input for a few seconds. For example, the character starts walking by itself, the camera spins to the right, or buttons such as L1 or R1 appear to stay pressed. After a few seconds everything returns to normal.
Hardware I used:
Official Raspberry Pi Pico (tested on two genuine boards, one with Micro USB and one with USB C)
Firmware: OGX-Mini-v1.0.0a3-PI_PICO.uf2
Wired USB connection
Tested with both a DualShock 4 and a DualSense controller
PS3 Fat (CECHJ04)
System software version 4.93
Troubleshooting
Rebuilt the adapter three times.
tested two different official Raspberry Pi Pico boards.
reduced the USB host wiring to approximately 5 mm.
tried multiple known good USB cables.
disabled rumble.
verified that the adapter is in PS3 mode.
tested both PS3 USB ports.
measured the power supply during operation and it remained stable at approximately 5 V.
tested with both a DualShock 4 and a DualSense controller.
Testing results
On Windows in XInput mode I could not reproduce any phantom inputs.
The PS3 XMB works perfectly without any glitches.
The following PS3 games also work perfectly without any issues:
LittleBigPlanet, Minecraft, Battlefield Bad Company 2
The issue only appears in Grand Theft Auto V from my testing so far.
Because the problem only occurs in GTA V while everything else works correctly, I was wondering if this could be a compatibility issue with the OGX-Mini's PS3 output mode that GTA V is incompatible with.
Has anyone reported similar behavior, or is there anything more I can test to help diagnose the issue?
