Short Scrolling Text on 32x8 panel doesn't scroll

What happened?

I'm using a 32x8 panel, correctly configured, but when I want to, for example, use #HHMM to display er scrolling clock, it's just a static image in the center. If I select 'mirror' on the segment, it does work, but in normal operation.
I can't find any existing bugs. Is this a known problem?

Hardware: regular esp32, 4MB ram Flash (no psram, I believe) external power, 32x8 led panel from aliexpress. Seems to happen in both moon-modules and stock wled.

To Reproduce Bug

Go to PixelForge, enter "#HHMM" in the text box. The example underneat show "#HHMM" scrolling. Click the checkmark. Notice the time on the panel, not scrolling.

Expected Behavior

Text should scroll (the effect is called "scrolling text", afterall)

@jvilhuber if you say " it's just a static image in the center", you mean that the complete "time" fits into your LEDs panels, correct?
It might be expected behaviour, because scrolling text is only expected to "scroll" when the text is too long to fit as a static image.

If you want to enforce scrolling, it might be enough to reduce the segment width (Start X, Stop X) by a few pixels.

This is not a bug, this is a feature, increase the text length if you need it to scroll.

I think there is an unused checkmark still, so "always scroll" could be implemented. This has just not come up, this behaviour of the scrolling text effect has been like this for many years.

Yes, that's it.

It's not bad the way it is, but unexpected, since the pixelforge webpage shows it as scrolling, but the device/panel does not. A "scroll anyway" setting might be useful.
