I've managed to remove the backslashes if they're there in the FFMPEG_EXTERNAL_LIBS variable only (but the code's easily adaptable if we need to use it for other variables). My systems are now back up and running. Obviously feel free to test. I commented out the gracenote function for now as it's just doing nothing.
