Idea for this community: pair Desktop Commander with a durable memory layer. I maintain one called Vestige, an MCP server that gives agents long-horizon memory, and DC sessions are exactly the kind of history it is built on.
The interesting bit is the backfill pass. When something breaks days later, it reaches back through what the agent saw and did, ranks earlier records as candidate contributors, and hands back a receipt you can inspect. Low-overlap causes survive, which is where most memory approaches give up. It also tracks which memories were used together and which combinations have never been tried, so the agent can propose untested pairings of its own past work.
Runs locally as a single Rust binary, config is one stdio block, AGPL-3.0 at github.com/samvallad33/vestige. Would a memory recipe for DC be welcome in your docs, or do the maintainers prefer to keep that out of scope?
