First, thanks for making nb. An LLM research agent recommended it to me last year when I wanted to find something exactly like it; I'm finally getting around to applying it to organize myself (and my team of LLMs). As someone who has written 4,000+-line portable, modular, single-file Bash programs before, you have my respect for making a 27,000-line one.
During my recent experimentation, I noticed that the notebook repositories do not contain a .gitattributes file with Git LFS filters when git-lfs is available. Assuming that I'm not missing something obvious, would a PR to provide optional Git LFS support be something that you would consider? If so, what do you think the shape of the interface should be? nb import --lfs ... to specify particular imports to be under Git LFS? nb notebooks add --lfs ... to enable Git LFS filters when a new notebook is created? What should the default set of patterns be (*.gif, *.jpg, *.png)?
(I could not find any other issue or discussion which already addressed this, surprisingly.)
