Image Caption Generator

A Streamlit app that uses Google's Gemini 1.5-Flash model to generate captions for uploaded images.

Introduction

This application utilizes Google's Gemini 1.5-Flash model to generate captions for uploaded images. Simply upload an image, and the model will provide a descriptive caption. Additionally, the caption can be converted to speech and played back to you.

Installation

To run the application, follow these steps:

1. Install dependencies:

   pip install streamlit google-generativeai pillow gtts streamlit-option-menu

2. Set up Google Cloud API key:

   You will need to set up a Google Cloud account and obtain an API key for the Gemini 1.5-Flash model. Follow the instructions on the Google Cloud website to obtain your API key. Create a .env file in the root directory of the project and add your API key:

   GOOGLE_API_KEY=your_google_api_key_here

Usage

To run the Streamlit application, use the following command:

streamlit run app.py
