Microsoft Azure - Creating a Virtual Machine

This tutorial outlines the steps and installation of a virtual machine using Microsoft Azure.

Environments and Technologies Used

- Microsoft Azure (Virtual Machines/Compute)

Operating Systems Used

- Windows 10 Pro (22H2)

List of Prerequisites

- Azure Subscription
- Resource Group

Installation Steps

First, from the Azure home, either select Resource Groups from the Azure services list or use the search bar to enter and select Virtual Machines(VM).

Next, on the Virtual Machine page, select 'Create' and from the drop down menu select Azure Virtual Machine.

On the next page select a resource group for the virtual machine



Name the VM and choose the Azure region that you want to work in and then choose the base operating system or application for the VM in the "Image" column.


Once the image is chosen, select a VM size for the work that you plan on doing. .

Next, create an Administrator account. This account will be used to log in to the VM. Check the Licensing box then select Review & create. On the following page the site will review all the credentials and once the validation passes, select create and deploy the VM.

The site will confirm the deployment of the VM once its complete.
