[BUG]: Can't Play Any Video

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Open the app by clicking it
2. Click on any video
3. Circular disk will start to spin, but video will never be played

Actual behavior

Error message will show up as follows:
Unknown source error: unable to connect to https://r2---sn-uhvcpax0n5-5uaz.googlevi...

Additional information

With Google YouTube app, the same video can be played without any issues

I'm having the same issue since last week. Was working fine previously.
It doesn't happen with ALL videos, but with most videos yes.

I would reword the title: "Videos buffer indefinitely", because technically they play, they just never finish loading.

@neotimes2005 did you already try to uninstall and re-install the app?

I'm having the same issue for a week now. I tried rolling back to earlier releases, but the video never plays. I let the circle do its thing, and eventually a very long error message appears. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and just one time, a video started playing. The second attempt did not work. Tried a few versions going back to Jan 2025, tried a video, did not work. Then installed the updates up to 27.03, did not work.

For me, the videos also load very badly, as i have no internet. But on all other Apps like Netflix, Disney, Youtube and all others everything runs perfectly, so its not because my internet reception. It will probably be due to SmartTube i hope there will be an update soon!

After uninstalled the stable 27.03 version, and installed the beta version, it is working again!

Well, said that too early, as it played one , first one video for 5 minutes, and it started the circling again. So it is still not working, for the beta version as well.

I am having the same issue on android 8.1, version stable 27.03 loads to a black screen and then will eventually pop the error, beta (my main preferred setup) is version 27.26 and this one just has the loading circle forever and then pops an error. Started around Friday afternoon

Update as of last night (4/7/25), both the stable and Beta versions started working. No updates were provided. Just started working.

4/9/25, after trying latest stable and beta version, still great portion of videos keep circling.

［fixed］after uncheck "buffer fix" in development settings. it finally plays
