How to move files in the explorer

I'd like to know how to move files in the Explorer. There is no right-click option, and drag and drop does not work for me. What am I missing?

I think it's because it seems to be hardcoded for alphabetical sort order only. I was looking here for a 'last edited' sort order. What you want is a 'manual' sort order also added. Possibly also being able to toggle on showing favourites first.
