Add AI-generated project summary to docs/project_summary.md with the correction that the project utilizes libevent instead of libev.

Created a `docs` directory and added `project_summary.md` detailing the
project's core architecture and functionalities, correcting the AI's
conclusion to specify the use of `libevent` instead of `libev` for
asynchronous event-driven I/O.

Removed the flawed `check_exp` macro in `os.c` which incorrectly expanded
to `if ((flags >= 0) < 0)` preventing `fcntl` error handling from ever
executing. Replaced with standard inline error checks.
Also added the corrected AI project summary noting the use of libevent
instead of libev.

Resolved OOM via high/low-water mark backpressure for child buffers.
Switched STDIN reading from blocking write-loop poll to centralized
EV_READ handling, fixing starvation via true Round-Robin distribution
and eliminating 100% CPU lockups.

Also fixed signal handling races (uninitialized `pids`) and added
Fail-Fast exit capability if any child mappers crash or exit with error.
Detailed fixes recorded in `docs/feature/optimizations.md`.
