Marten edited this page Jul 10, 2015 · 7 revisions

Introduction

Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) have been around for many years. The context in which SDI operate has changed with upcoming open data programs, geospatial platforms, brokers, and related technical specifications. The SDI Special Interest Group is the ideal place to discuss these developments with each other, exchange experiences, and make new friends.

Meeting Info

Esri International User Conference

  • When: July 22, 2015. 12:00PM - 1:00PM
  • Where: Room 23A, San Diego Convention Center

Session Format

The SDI SIG is an informal session where we aim to bring some discussion to life based on some presentations and questions we prepare. We'll have some people from the federal government talking about their experiences, challenges, and solutions, as well as some international SDI implementers.

Discussion Topics

Some of the topics we're hoping to discuss include:

  • How are SDI affected by Open Data requirements? How have you solved those?
  • How is the funding of your SDI work organized? Is it a project with an end date? Is it integrated into your overall organization program?
  • Working map services are key to a successful SDI. How do you ensure this is indeed realized when you may not control the server environments? What solutions have you applied or what would help?

Fork the agenda!

If you have additional topics, questions, thoughts or really funny jokes you'd like to share with the SIG, please submit them here and help us shape the SIG!
