Project updates:
- The LT got a short update on our financial situation.
- We will start the migration process from our mailing lists to Discourse soon.
Testing subgroup:
- The testing subgroup has been very active in the last few weeks. Testing included branches that improve broker, and some of the ZAM optimization code, leading to finding and fixing a problem where memory usage would grow over time, an issue related to a change from January of this year
- We are now looking for more contributors for the testing group. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to us by mailing testing@zeek.org or lt@zeek.org. For more details on the testing group, see our original announcement blog post.
Training:
- We recently announced a training event that will happen on May 20th 2022. Please see the blog post for more details.
Zeek 5 release timeline:
- Zeek 5 should be released around June or July; feature freeze for the code will be the end of May. Zeek 5 will include Spicy by default.
Zeek Week:
- The LT discussed some specifics of Zeek Week. This included a first iteration over a potential list of keynote speakers, and a discussion of the talk selection process we will use this year. The second involved whether the event should be hybrid or focused on in-person attendance.
- We will post a Call for Paper with more details in the coming weeks.
