Every pack now has a text caret. Point at a text field and you get an I-beam instead of the arrow, on both Linux and Windows.

Added

  • A text caret (I-beam) for all 24 packs, on both platforms. It shows up wherever text gets edited: text boxes, address bars, rename fields.

Notes

  • Dota ships no text cursor, so the caret is drawn rather than taken from the game. Each one is an I-beam shaped to match and tinted from that pack's own arrow colors, so it looks like part of the set. It's the only original artwork in the repo, released into the public domain like the install script and the release workflow. See DISCLAIMER.
  • Lighter packs (the silver default, The Summit 3, TI 2019) show the caret more faintly on dark backgrounds, the way any pale cursor does. The saturated packs read fine either way.
  • Busy and resize cursors still have no Dota art, so those keep reusing the arrow and move cursors.

Changed

  • Previews now show the caret, in the third slot after the link cursor.
  • README and DISCLAIMER updated to note the caret is an original addition, not Valve's art.

Art is Valve's, from Dota 2, apart from the drawn caret. Fan project, not affiliated with Valve. See the repo's DISCLAIMER for details.
