Initial Stable Release – v1.0.0

This release marks the first stable API for QuantumCryptLib.

QuantumCryptLib provides a post-quantum secure communication building block
using Kyber512 (NIST-selected KEM) for key establishment and
AEAD (ChaCha20-Poly1305) for authenticated encryption.

Features

  • Stable Kyber512 KEM API
  • Shared secret establishment
  • AEAD-based data encryption
  • End-to-end secure channel example
  • Integration tests covering multiple handshake cycles
  • Rust 2021 edition

Cryptographic Design

Kyber is used only for key encapsulation, not for direct data encryption.
Application data is protected using AEAD, following industry best practices
for post-quantum migration.

API Stability

The public API introduced in v1.0.0 is considered stable.
Future v1.x releases will be backward compatible.

Planned Enhancements

  • HKDF-based key derivation
  • Hybrid classical + post-quantum mode
  • Secret zeroization
  • no_std support
