Scene Sequencer 2.0.1
Breaking Changes
Service usage changed from stateless payloads to config-entry based sequencers.
Existing automations and scripts that call cycle with a scenes list directly must be updated.
Sequencer behavior is now driven by per-entry configuration in the UI:
Name
On scenes
Optional off scene
Optional timeout
Transition
Service targeting now uses entry_id or name instead of passing full scene lists each call.
Migration Required
Open Home Assistant Integrations and create a Scene Sequencer entry for each sequence you want.
Configure:
Name
On scenes in order
Off scene (optional)
Timeout (optional when off scene is not used)
Transition
Update automations and scripts:
Old style: cycle call with scenes and go_to_last_timeout payload
New style: cycle, scene_on, or scene_off targeting a configured entry by entry_id or name
Remove old automations that still pass raw sequence payloads.
New Features
Config Flow and Options Flow support for creating and editing sequencers in the UI.
New services:
scene_on
scene_off
cycle (kept)
Service target by entry_id or name.
Improved synchronization when scenes are shared across multiple sequencer entries.
Better handling of internal versus external scene.turn_on events.
Persisted sequencer state across Home Assistant restarts.
Expanded localization support.
Fixes and Improvements
Timeout handling refined and reset behavior improved on service calls.
More robust sequencing transitions, including last on scene to off scene and return to first on scene.
Logging improved with clearer debug and warning paths.
Reliability and UX improvements based on live Home Assistant validation.
Notes
This is a major release because migration is required, updating automations is mandatory.
You can’t perform that action at this time.
