I've migrated to Device flow from Web application flow. Since this doesn't need a client secret bundled in the app package as previous, it's more secure. Plus, no callback URI is necessary now, which has made the authorization flow even more secure and seamless. You should see a decreased chance of crash and auth failure. We also moved away from the official Octokit API C# wrappers, which haven't been updated frequently only to have become out-of-date. Instead, we have developed a light-weight wrapper for the API.
Additionally, we're preparing for a massive UI refresh, which targets for daily usage and smoother navigation. I'm sure you would love the new design!
