Palboo 1.0 is the first official release, bringing next steps, reading tools, and tasks alongside Codex.

What changed

• A more flexible workspace. Use the sidebar, page overlay, desktop window, or edge/notch panel. Drag to split or group features, and fold stacked panels into compact rows. Shared icons keep the controls familiar in every position.
• Stepwise next steps. Twelve built-in directions, your own custom directions, a searchable picker, drag-to-reorder, and quick prompts in one settings page.
• Your personal glossary. Add a term by name or import a file for the current chat's Agent to process on your next message. Export personal additions, favorites, and mastered terms; reset personal content while keeping the base glossary.
• Model switching and Grok Bot. Select the models and reasoning levels available in Codex, save presets, and view available usage limits. Find Bots with search and keep their profiles synchronized.
• Clearer settings. Consistent typography, light and dark controls, responsive navigation, and drawers for longer lists. Interactive previews cover placement, layout, and materials.
• Smoother interactions. Improved sidebar resizing, window handoffs, edge-panel collapse, and terminology display.

What changed

• Clearer settings. Grouped pages, search, light/dark themes, drawers and interactive previews keep frequent controls easy to reach. Drafts and reading positions survive navigation.
• Task details. Edit task notes, priority and due dates, drag cards between custom groups and use group tabs in narrow sidebars. Existing Reminders bindings remain active; new synchronization controls are hidden, and priority/dates are local only.
• Model organization. Group by manufacturer or your own categories, batch move and reorder models, save complete presets and retain temporarily unavailable model preferences.
• Shared workspace. Outlines, next steps, tasks, model switching and terminology share sidebar, overlay or desktop positions. An edge/notch panel can coexist; split, merge or focus panels without losing drafts.
• Entrance and windows. Use the eyes menu for in-chat, desktop and settings actions. Improve overlay handoffs and fix leftover sidebar space and resizing after page zoom.
• Terminology and prompt enhancement. Import a local glossary, read definitions, mark favorites or mastered terms, and export manual entries. Refine a composer draft without automatically sending or overwriting newer edits.
• Typography and performance. Follow Codex typography or set a custom size. Add a Codex integration switch and optional CPU, memory and long-task monitoring, while retaining local tasks when disconnected.
• Agent-friendly configuration. Read and update local settings through codex-buddy config schema/get/set, with dry runs, redacted credentials and conflict protection.
• Connection fixes. Improve settings reconnection, CodexHost controls, model-order saving and official Zhipu Chat Completions compatibility.

What changed

• Three direction modes. Explore directions automatically, choose and order your own, or use experimental smart selection to assess candidate directions before generating suggestions.
• Complete context. Use the complete latest question and answer by default. Preserve existing limits; when a limit is set, prioritize the question and indicate truncation.
• More useful next steps. Keep the overall goal and pending decisions in view. Counts are upper limits, with up to three suggestions for a new configuration.
• Quick prompts and autosave. Customize reusable prompts, initially Continue and Execute. Preserve existing drafts and save settings on blur or option changes, keeping edits after failures or conflicts.
• Optional smart selection. Jev is off by default and requires separate credentials and consent. It only judges candidate directions; cancellation, failure or no suitable direction does not silently select another generation mode.
• Workspace improvements. Keep the simpler eyes controls, always-on-top preference, hover actions, web settings and stable edge-panel animations; fix sidebar changes during note editing.

• Simpler workspace controls. Click the eyes to open or close the in-chat workspace; double-click to move it to the desktop and back. Desktop windows remember their always-on-top choice.
• Less visual clutter. Show toolbar and refresh actions on hover or keyboard focus. Keep drag arrangement and double-click focus without duplicate controls.
• Suggestions and notes. Restore valid suggestions when returning to a chat during the same run. Fix sidebar changes triggered by editing or deleting chat notes.
• Settings and theme. Open grouped web settings directly and follow Codex colors without changing the host appearance.
• Model switching. Improve edge-panel opening and collapse, retain the selected display across spaces and keep the Ultra level visible when supported by the model.

• Model switching. Add an independent edge panel for Codex models, reasoning levels and Standard / Fast choices, with presets, favorites, search, ordering and keyboard controls.
• Position and material. Choose a display and the left, right or top edge. Use black, matte, frosted or Liquid Regular/Clear materials.
• Reliable selection. Apply selections on the first click with fewer menu flashes. Allow changes during a reply when official controls permit, then read back the actual selection.
• Smoother edge panels. Use a slim collapsed shape, reverse animations mid-transition and fix end-of-collapse jumps, leftover menus and failed preference reads.

• Workspace layouts. Arrange features automatically, vertically or horizontally. Drag to split, merge tabs, reorder or focus a panel. Sidebar and desktop layouts are remembered separately.
• Follow or lock a chat. Keep outlines and next steps linked to the same chat. Locked results remain available when their source is temporarily missing, without writing into another chat.
• Windows and launch. Use the shared eyes controls, resize desktop windows without a fixed maximum and reuse an existing Codex connection. Choose whether to ask or force a restart when a new connection is needed.
• Fixes. Resolve appearance-save conflicts after moving or pinning a window, lost reading position after temporary hiding, and delays when the connection disappears.

• Docked workspace. Show outlines and next steps together, with independent scrolling and adjustable sidebar width and dividers. Follow a chat when it opens separately.
• Reading continuity. Keep saved dimensions when space is limited and retain reading position across window handoffs. Results from an old chat no longer replace the current chat.
• Consistent appearance. Use Liquid Clear by default in the main sidebar and matte in a separate foreground chat, with independent preferences and quieter Clear controls.
• Smoother handoffs. Double-click the eyes to move between the chat and desktop, then return to the original expanded or collapsed state. Fix resizing alignment and reduced-motion transitions.
