Sally 1.0.28 is a focused follow-up to the 1.0.27 Unicode migration release.

Fixes

  • Fixed Copy to Clipboard from the Directory Line and Status Line context menus. Opening the menu cleared the current hot item before the command executed, so Sally now copies the text captured when the menu was opened. Thanks to @xmiseggs for reporting #110 and @vectorrilke for confirming it on ARM64.
  • Made reusable .slt translation archive metadata architecture-neutral. The same translation sources now cleanly produce x86, x64, and ARM64 language packs.
  • Corrected ARM64 executable and language-resource version labels, and strengthened Release CI to reject architecture metadata mismatches.

Downloads

Portable builds are provided for x64, x86, and ARM64. A consolidated PDB archive and SHA-256 checksum manifest are also attached.

Validation

  • Public Release CI passed for x64, x86, and ARM64: https://github.com/0xeb/sally/actions/runs/36057004594
  • Private test gate: 242/242 passed.
  • All three packaged runtimes passed release-artifact verification with 11/11 language packs and zero warnings.
  • The exact packaged x64 runtime passed the automated real-UI regression for #110 in Windows Sandbox.
  • Microsoft Defender reported zero detections across the final release packages.

Note

Sally 1.0.28 retains the Unicode and long-path architecture introduced in 1.0.27. The compatibility guidance and known limitations from that release still apply, particularly around legacy ANSI-only external tools and third-party plugins.
