Milestone
Description
Is your enhancement related to a problem? Please describe.
Description
This feature proposes creating a unified “SEO Optimization per post” experience that allows an author or editor to trigger a single AI-powered workflow for SEO enhancements, rather than invoking individual features one at a time across the editor interface.
This workflow would leverage existing functionality and integrate with relevant roadmap items, allowing a user to request, review, and accept/edit/reject all suggested SEO optimizations in a single interface.
Motivation
- Streamlined Workflow: Reduces friction by enabling content creators to optimize posts for SEO from one place, rather than separately managing title generation, excerpts, keywords, internal links, etc.
- Better adoption of features: Bundling the features into a single call-to-action increases discoverability and usage of underutilized SEO tools already built into the plugin.
- Improved Editorial Experience: Editors can make decisions faster with all suggestions surfaced in a single review screen, reducing the need for back-and-forth across various sidebar panels or modals.
Benefits
- Makes AI-powered SEO enhancements more accessible and actionable
- Increases the value of ClassifAI as an editorial assistant, not just a collection of AI microfeatures
- Unifies plugin functionality into a compelling, task-driven user experience
Proposed Workflow
- User clicks “Optimize for SEO” button (e.g., as a dedicated sidebar panel, as a top toolbar button, as a block toolbar item).
- AI services are triggered to generate:
- Suggested SEO title (already supported)
- Meta description/excerpt (already supported & via Suggest SEO-friendly keywords #435)
- Post tags or keywords (already supported & via Suggest SEO-friendly keywords #435)
- Suggested slug (via Suggesting perMALInks #58)
- Alt text for images (already supported)
- Internal linking suggestions (via Suggest relevant internal links within post content #735)
- Related post or taxonomy suggestions
- Improved prompts for SEO purposes (via Assistive SEO #599)
- All results are presented together in a modal interface for:
- Reviewing
- Editing AI suggestions before Accepting
- Accepting/Rejecting individual recommendations
- Upon confirmation, all accepted AI recommendations are applied to the post content, media, meta, taxonomies, etc.
Next Steps
- Define the UI/UX for displaying SEO suggestions in a single interface
- Determine which ClassifAI services can be reused vs. need refinement
- Consider adding a fallback or loading indicator for async processing
- Identify if block editor integration or a modal-based overlay makes more sense for this workflow
