SimSteer v0.1.0 - drive Euro Truck Simulator 2, Forza Horizon 5, and Assetto Corsa with comma.ai's openpilot vision + planning model.

Download

SimSteer-0.1.0.zip - self-contained Windows x64 build. No Python install, no model download: the runtime, DLLs, and the ONNX model are all bundled. The ViGEm/vJoy driver installers are included at the root.

(The auto-generated "Source code" archives below are the tracked source - for developers who want to build/run from source per docs/SETUP.md.)

Install

  1. Extract the zip anywhere (e.g. C:\SimSteer\).
  2. Unblock the exe. It is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen warns on first run - click More info then Run anyway. If you downloaded it, right-click SimSteer.exe > Properties > tick Unblock first.
  3. Double-click install-drivers.bat to install the ViGEm (gamepad) and vJoy (wheel) drivers. Approve the UAC prompt(s), then reboot.
  4. Per-game setup:
    • ETS2 - set Steering deadzone to 0%; install the SCS telemetry plugin (the app offers a one-click install).
    • Forza Horizon 5 - enable Data Out (UDP 127.0.0.1:7777, Dash format).
    • Assetto Corsa - launch via Content Manager.
  5. Run SimSteer.exe. In the tuner's Camera section, set Capture VFOV to match your in-game FOV (there is no auto-FOV). Drive ~10-15 min on a highway to calibrate, then press INSERT to engage.

Notes

  • Unsigned binary - SmartScreen and some AV products flag it on first run (a known false positive for unsigned PyInstaller bundles).
  • Camera FOV is manual - match your in-game setting and watch the HUD ratio vx_model/v_ego (~1.0 = correct; >1.05 narrow it, <0.95 widen it).
  • To remove the drivers later (e.g. when using a real Fanatec wheel), double-click uninstall-drivers.bat.
  • Unofficial project, not affiliated with comma.ai. MIT licensed. The driving model is comma.ai's, fetched from openpilot.

See docs/SETUP.md and docs/TUNING.md for full setup and tuning.
