Bug fixes, native tests + compile CI, docs, and a lighter AVR footprint. Fully backward compatible with 3.0.0.

Fixes

  • syncRFC3339(): correct dates in leap years (previously rendered the wrong month/day).
  • NTP examples now link on AVR (out-of-line definition of NTP_PACKET, gnu++11).
  • _hasResponse(): fixed signed/unsigned comparison that could accept an error packet.
  • getElapsedTimeInMillis(): now compiles and no longer overflows.
  • offline example: guard LED_BUILTIN (undefined on the generic esp32 board).

AVR footprint

  • Date conversion stays at 2 × 16-bit divisions (no 32-bit division).
  • NTP_PACKET moved to PROGMEM: −48 bytes of RAM.

API

  • getTimestampRFC3339() unchanged (returns String).
  • New c_str(): zero-allocation timestamp access.

Tooling

  • Native unit tests (-Werror) + GitHub Actions compiling examples on AVR / ESP8266 / ESP32.
