1.0 - Force kill in Recents task menu (OneUI 8.5)

@1ndev-ui 1ndev-ui released this 13 Oct 20:34

Initial release. LSPosed module that adds a Force kill item to the per-task popup menu in Recents, directly below Keep open.

What it does

  • Tap a task's icon in Recents → tap Force kill → the card swipe-dismisses and the app is force-stopped (forceStopPackage + killBackgroundProcesses + removeTask). A toast confirms the package.
  • Targets the tapped card's exact package (TaskView.getTaskPackageName, with view-tag / top-recent fallbacks).

Install

  1. Install the APK from Assets.
  2. LSPosed Manager → Modules → enable ForceKill Focused.
  3. Scope: com.android.systemui (plus com.sec.android.app.launcher on OneUI).
  4. Reboot (or restart SystemUI).

Works on Magisk + Zygisk + LSPosed and KernelSU + ZygiskNext + LSPosed. No separate builds; it's a plain LSPosed APK.

Caveats

  • Tested against OneUI 8.5 Recents internals (task_menu_layout / task_menu_item_layout, cloned below the task_option_dedicated_app row). Internals change between OneUI builds, so if the button doesn't appear, see the README for the dumpsys / jadx check.
  • No whitelist UI, kill-all mode, or flashable zip. They're unnecessary since LSPosed abstracts the root backend.
