The first public release of Qanvas: a live, two-way layout editor for Q-SYS plugins in VS Code.

Install

  • VS Code Marketplace: open the Extensions view (Ctrl+Shift+X), search for Qanvas, and click Install.
  • Or by hand: download qanvas-0.6.0.vsix below, then in VS Code run Extensions: Install from VSIX….

What it does

  • Your .qplug code on one side, the plugin on the other, drawn the way Q-SYS Designer draws it and updating as you type
  • Drag, resize, align and theme in the preview; Qanvas changes only the numbers involved and keeps your formatting
  • Presets and starters lay out finished sections with working Lua
  • Test mode runs your runtime code in the preview, with a pretend device (TCP and UDP) and web server you play from the console
