Oriel for Mac 1.0.2

@1ucian 1ucian released this 14 Oct 03:51

The Mac companion for Oriel on iPhone and iPad. It shows your Mac's screen on the phone, moves the pointer and types for you, and runs the assistant's models on the Mac.

New in 1.0.2

  • Voice input: tap the microphone on the phone, in the assistant or the keyboard tray, speak, and tap again. Your Mac turns the speech into text with Whisper large-v3, running on the Mac. The audio goes only to your Mac, end-to-end encrypted, and is never stored.

  • The speech model (about 3 GB) downloads once from Hugging Face the first time you use voice input. It is pinned to a fixed revision and checked by SHA-256 before it loads.

  • While loaded, the model uses about 4 GB of memory. It unloads after 10 idle minutes, or sooner when the Mac runs low on memory.

  • Voice input is on by default. On the Assistant tab you can switch it off, pick the language or list names and terms to expect.

  • Version 1.0.2, build 202610131710

  • macOS 15 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon

  • Signed with a Developer ID (team K24UG7QNLB) and notarized by Apple

Open Oriel.dmg, drag Oriel to Applications and open it from there. It lives in the menu bar. Setup, permissions and pairing: https://oriel.67enterprise.com/download/

@1ucian 1ucian released this 12 Oct 04:34

The Mac companion for Oriel on iPhone and iPad. It shows your Mac's screen on the phone, moves the pointer and types for you, and runs the assistant's models on the Mac.

New in 1.0.1

  • Paired devices on the Mac: see each paired phone, what it may do and when it was paired, and revoke it. Its session ends at once, and it needs a new pairing code and your approval to come back.

  • A pairing confirmation code: the Mac's approval prompt shows six digits, and phones that show a code display the same ones.

  • Stop Control now stops everything at once, including text being typed, a held mouse button and the assistant's run.

  • The pairing window's buttons stay visible when the window is in the background.

  • Version 1.0.1, build 202610112115

  • macOS 15 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon

  • Signed with a Developer ID (team K24UG7QNLB) and notarized by Apple
