Consoles and Emulators: Ares
This article covers how to run DK64 Randomizer on Ares. Ares is a cross-platform, open source, multi-system emulator, focusing on accuracy and preservation and also works without any additional setup needed.
If you are on Linux, there are no builds available for download so this must be built from source. Build instructions can be found here
In Settings -> Video, switch to 4x native. This does have a tradeoff of additonal N64 lag
In Settings -> Driver, switch When focus is lost to Allow input
