0.5.6
Fixed
- Choosing a list icon works again. In Settings → List styles, clicking a list's icon now opens a searchable dialog listing every icon Obsidian has available, each shown as the actual glyph next to its name. Pick one and it applies straight away.
- Previously the icon was a text field whose suggestion list never opened and a glyph that ignored clicks, so the only way to set an icon was to type its id from memory — while the colour picker right next to it worked normally.
Existing list styles keep the icons they already have; nothing needs to be re-picked.
0.5.5
Added
- Lists can now be renamed. A new pencil icon in the list header (next to copy/trash) opens a rename dialog that rewrites the list across every item it contains — completed and incomplete — instead of having to move items one by one into a freshly created list.
- A list's custom color/icon and its "Default list" setting (if it was pinned) follow the rename automatically.
0.5.4
Added
- Tasks completed today now group together above your remaining active tasks, instead of staying mixed in with them. The group has a small gap below it to keep it visually distinct from the active list — and it stays visible regardless of the eye-icon toggle (which still controls older, past-completed items).
- Completing a task animates it sliding up into that group, and any other tasks that shift position as a result animate along with it instead of jumping into place.

@tags — tag people and contexts in your tasks
Type @ inside a task to tag a person or any context — e.g. talk to @matyas, then send docs.
- Autocomplete — typing
@opens a filtered dropdown of tags you already use.Tab/Shift+Tabor↑/↓to move the selection,Enterto insert. The tag lands with the cursor right after it (no trailing space), so@matyas,flows naturally. - Sidebar entries — every tag with open tasks appears in the left rail below your lists, with a live incomplete count, sorted by how many open tasks reference it. Click one to see all its tasks.
- Tag search — a search starting with
@matches by tag. Partial and word-start matches work:@olchfinds@piotrOlchawa. - Readable display —
@piotrOlchawashows as "@piotr Olchawa" in the rail and capitalized inline. Accented letters fold to ASCII on save and casing is unified, so a person is one tag no matter how you type them. - Drag onto a tag in the rail to add it to a task.
Tags live inline in your todo.txt using the standard @context convention, so they stay compatible with other todo.txt tools.

macOS Dock badge
- Optional native red badge on Obsidian's Dock icon counting your overdue tasks (uncompleted,
duebefore today). Off by default — enable it in settings. - Second toggle, "Badge includes tasks due today" (on by default when the badge is enabled): counts due-today + overdue, making the badge match the Today view's number — the Reminders/Things/Todoist convention. Turn it off for strict "only what I'm late on".
- Zero hides the badge entirely; completed tasks never count.
- Stays fresh without opening the Nudge pane: recomputed on startup, on every
todo.txtchange (including external edits), on settings changes, and when the date rolls over — a minute tick catches midnight and overnight sleep/wake. - Bonus fix from the rollover tick: open Nudge views now re-render when the day changes, so the Today view rolls over at midnight instead of showing yesterday's state until the next edit.
- Disabling the plugin (or a read error) clears the badge rather than leaving a stale number.
Housekeeping
- Type-safe Electron access for the badge and popout-safe
requestAnimationFrame, resolving alltypescript-eslintwarnings. - ESLint setup mirroring the Obsidian plugin-review linter (
npm run lint): typescript-eslint type-checked rules +eslint-plugin-obsidianmd.
0.4.0
Fuzzy search across all lists
- New magnifying-glass button in the panel header (left of +) that widens into an inline search input, or open it with the new configurable hotkey.
- Live fuzzy matching from the 2nd character on, re-ranked on every keystroke. Below 2 characters the previous view stays put.
- Searches item text and link URLs — links are cleaned before matching (protocol/
www./query stripped, percent-decoded, slugs split into words), soblood angelsfinds…/how-to-paint-blood-angels. - Results view: incomplete matches on top by relevance, all completed matches in the dimmed section below — shown by default, with the eye toggle hiding them independently of the other views.
- Matched characters are highlighted in the item text; when the match landed in the URL, the row's link button gets the same highlight.
- Every result shows its list tag(s); clicking a tag jumps to that list. Rows stay fully interactive (complete, inline edit, delete, due date, copy), and results can be dragged onto a rail list or Today. Copy-list works over the results in all three formats.
- Exit with Esc or the ✕ inside the input to return to the previously selected view (filters intact); clicking a rail list also exits. In Results, + returns to the previous view and starts an inline add there.
Configurable search hotkey
- New setting with the same click-and-press recorder as the new-task hotkey (e.g. record
Cmd+F). Unset by default. - Honored only while the Nudge view is the active pane, and it overrides Obsidian's own binding for that combo (e.g. find-in-note for
Cmd+F).
