Repository navigation
Loci v0.2.0 adds an optional visual authoring console to the generated local demonstration. A signed-in author can map one video range to a model point, preview the annotation privately and publish it individually. Readers can play that evidence while keeping their chosen model view. Separate walkthroughs show the generated authoring example and the hosted research collection.
Changes
- Added three generated chapters with visible feature labels, shape markers and video time, plus a guarded refresh for eligible existing synthetic installations.
- Rejected blank placement coordinates while accepting valid zero coordinates, and aligned the generated Top edge pin with the demonstrated edge.
- Preserved the camera during direct model-pin playback and retained the selected annotation at a guided range's exclusive end.
- Refreshed clean transcript drafts after saved text changes; preserved unsaved text during navigation and blocked detected conflicting saves until explicit reconciliation.
- Corrected dark branding and retained the muted-light palette.
- Added the Lab's silent authoring video, poster, timed description and single-range authoring guide.
- Added Unlock Digital's hosted collection walkthrough with audio, a still README poster, optional animated preview and feature guide.
- Updated brace-expansion to 5.0.12 and PyJWT to 2.15.0, with matching dependency notices and expanded checks.
Contributions and media terms
3D Humanities Lab contributed the generated demo improvements, authoring/playback corrections, guarded refresh, transcript conflict correction, dependency/setup documentation and original local authoring tutorial. Unlock Digital contributed the hosted walkthrough recording and editing, retaining the source captions and attribution. Unlock Digital also independently assessed and adopted the Lab source and final changelog for protected owner review, preserving the original Lab commits and authorship.
Software, first-party documentation and generated Lab examples retain Apache 2.0 terms. The hosted hosted-walkthrough.mp4, hosted-walkthrough.jpg and hosted-walkthrough-preview.gif are explicit exceptions. The edited presentation has permission to display participants and is publicly viewable/downloadable; inclusion grants no reuse license for these assets or depicted research content. Original interviews, models and collection datasets remain outside the repository. See license scope and media permissions.
Upgrade and scope
Rebuild the API and web images from this release. Preserve the installation's .env, database and media volumes. A source update alone changes neither running images nor existing seeded content. The optional console uses the existing API and services; these contributions introduce no database migration, role/publication privilege change or JWT algorithm/token-format change.
An eligible original synthetic installation can use the explicit generated-demo refresh. It validates the sample contract, writes new media before switching database references, and preserves the original source and old playback files. Back up the isolated database if restoration of its previous content is needed. Personalized content uses the ordinary replacement and review workflow.
The supported authoring exercise covers one range on the seeded cube. General multi-range export/publication, provisioning new public object identities, approximately 700-object performance, broader browser/device coverage and hosted operational security remain separate work. The Lab video's opening overview precedes the documented Top edge correction. Earlier release archives retain their original contents.
Validation
Release commit: 2a4460689d832cb935a1b7014f4b549caeb69566. All four required jobs passed for this exact reviewed commit: web unit/build/dependency checks; API/PostgreSQL/Redis and migration rehearsal; browser regression; and clean generated demo with real authoring privacy/publication/cleanup. See the final-main CI run.
Inspected final-main evidence records 138 passing web tests, 624 API cases across 31 modules without skips, and zero vulnerabilities in the full npm audit. Both ordinary and reduced-motion camera checks pass, alongside the actual private-preview, individual-publication and cleanup journey.
